the Drum Cafe
The Drum Cafe started
in South Africa in 1996 and began its life as a weekly drum session.
We have since opened a club in Cape Town and offices in Australia,
Canada, America, Germany and of course the UK . We have done every
type of event from massive conferences for thousands of people (each
supplied with one African drum) to weddings and private parties.
We have drummed with accountants, doctors, lawyers, businessmen,
sheep vets, fig scientists, prime ministers, presidents (yes two
American , two South African) princes (3) and just about every
kind of crowd you can imagine. Our experience has enabled us to
run just about any kind of event for any kind of crowd.

Introduction
to Drumming
Drumming
has been used in Africa for thousands of years... to mark an occasion
or to draw others near. At births, initiations, weddings, funerals,
celebrations and preparations for the battle, when drumming is heard
in the distance... you know something of importance is about to
happen, your curiosity is awakened and your pulse speeds up.
When
you drum in a group, you work as a team!
Group
drumming is a powerful team building method, because the effect
is immediate and is felt by everyone. The individual has to be aware
of his/her neighbors and has a direct effect on the group.
Corporate
Drumming can be a fantastic diagnostic tool. Through either
discussion or simply group observation the facilitators will attempt
to highlight all the positive and the negative dynamics. The
group will then see more clearly its position, its lessons and hopefully
its direction.
Drumcafe
U.K. offers rhythm work, beats work and drum beats. Beatswork and
drumbeats are interactive drumming workshops. We run our events
in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Midlands, Surrey,
The South West, Gloucester, Essex, Nottingham, Coventry, Cheshire,
Bristol, Reading and also around Europe (France, Germany, Spain,
Switzerland, Austria).
